Artist Statement

AlienNation is a multidisciplinary art project that fuses pop culture, political critique, and personal mythology into a language of rebellion. Through painting, printmaking, writing, music, and design, AlienNation transforms the familiar—icons like the Statue of Liberty, xenomorphs, and American symbols—into confrontations with alienation, silence, resistance, and survival.

The name carries dual meaning: alien as outsider and unrecognizable other — within one’s own surroundings and mind — and nation as both fractured society and imagined community. Each piece reflects lived experience—panic, disillusionment, humor, grief—and refracts it through surreal, subversive imagery.

AlienNation’s practice spans:

  • Acrylic paintings that reimagine mythic figures in states of censorship, decay, or revolt, built through layered textures, crackled surfaces, and fractured iconography that expose collapse, resistance, and vulnerability.
  • Screen prints and graphic works channeling punk energy into bold, stripped-down icons.
  • Mixed-media experiments with texture, static, and layered symbolism that blur the line between nightmare and satire.
  • Writing in the form of prose and poetry, extending the same themes of alienation, panic, and resistance into language.
  • Music carried forward as part of the same continuum of resistance.

At its core, AlienNation is art about survival in noise—static, whiteout, chaos—and the refusal to look away. It is protest and panic, humor and horror, rebellion and recognition.
